silly love songs
Mar. 4th, 2007 10:50 amThis video is brilliant:Mal and Inara scenes set to the Elephant Love Medley from Moulin Rouge. It's amazing how well the songs fit, especially "We Can Be [Big Damn] Heroes." I wonder why Satine's line "You're gonna be bad for business, I can tell" at the end wasn't included—it's a perfect thing for Inara to be telling Mal.
So I found that, and then I had to find the original Elephant Love Medley, and then I was curious what song the line "Some people try to fill the world with silly love songs" came from, so that's how I finally found "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney and his band Wings.
The song was #1 on the charts; how can I have never heard it until recently? (Could be the fact that anything resembling disco had been long dead by the time I started listening to music.) Anyway, I love it. It's been running through my head for the last week. More songs should have funky bass lines like Sir Paul's. The trumpet line is wonderful too.
So after some more looking around, I found this mashup of "Silly Love Songs" with something that, in my opinion, definitely qualifies as a Silly Love Song.
This is what I do when I'm supposed to be working.
