My artichoke dip was a hit at Big Garvin Christmas. Everyone was impressed, despite the fact that it's ridiculously, insanely easy. Some form of this recipe is in, like, every cookbook, but this is my favorite version.

2 cans artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 cup mayo
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
the amount of lemon juice from smallish slice
1 clove garlic, minced

Mix up the stuff. Put it in a dish. Put in the oven at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Serve with crackers. Don't use the ones we've been using as dog treats. Be careful taking it out of the oven if your arm is tired from all that grating. Find a cardboard box to put it in. Not that one, the potatoes are going in there. Find something to insulate the dish. I think there are some dish towels in the upstairs closet. Where's that nice Christmas spreader? Don't forget your coat.

So, Garvin Christmas was a success. It was amazing how hitch-free it was, since about half of our relatives were without power because of the snow. Good people. Cute food and delicious babies. Wait, reverse that.

EDIT: made recipe a little clearer.
